Phuoc-Tan,
It should be said that winners are not selected from each category in the contest. The last judging did not produce any cleave winners.
Dear Diana
That is a shame.
The cleave is such a different concept for people to get their poetic minds around.
ptdiep,
Sorry I didn’t respond to this sooner — I didn’t see it.
Yes most readers are confused by the form, but I have found in my workshops that they soon get used to it and learn to like it.
In any case, I’d rather have my poetry be thought of as difficult than conventional, wouldn’t you?
Best wishes,
Diana
Dear Diana
conventional is not something I aspire to either
PTD
I agree- conventional is not where I am aiming either.
I have also found that once people get used to the form, they can go right into a cleave and get out of it what there is to be gotten out of it.
